A1 License Training – 17+

If you are interested in gaining a full motorbike license, but do not want to ride motorbikes or scooters larger than 125cc then the A1 license is the next step. Although you remain limited to 125cc bikes it does mean you will not need to repeat your CBT in the future, while giving you the obvious benefits of having a full license – you can take a pillion passenger, use all road types including motorways and of course no need to display L plates.

Of course your riding ability will only improve with further training and passing the tests – and you may also find the added benefit of cheaper insurance, while in the long run saving yourself a lot of money as you will not need to keep repeating your CBT.

To take the A1 tests (which are the same as those for the other bike size categories) you will need a valid, current CBT certificate and theory test (both of which are valid 2 years.) You can use your own 125cc bike or hire from Swift.

Training Options

• 3 day course including Module 1 & 2 tests (as above) with our 125cc automatic or a 125cc geared bike – £700.

• Additional days – £230 with use of our bike/ £210 using your own. If you’d like an additional day on the road for Module 2 practice or extra Mod 1 & 2 time this can be added on if it becomes necessary or you would simply prefer the extra training time.
