About Courses Contact Instructor A2 License Training Book your CBT

Full Motorcycle License – age 24+ / or after 2 years on A2

If you are 24 or over you have the option of training for and taking your full license tests to ride a bike larger than the 125cc that CBT allows, there is then no engine size or power limit – gaining the full license basically allows you to ride a bike of any size. You can also upgrade from your A2 license to holding the A category after completing 2 years of holding an A2 license if under 24.

More power, more flexibility and far greater choice over what you can ride! Situations where a 125 might struggle – headwinds/hills/overtaking/faster roads etc are so much easier to deal with on a larger bike, so most people tend to be surprised at how much easier the larger bike can actually be to ride – and soon get used to the extra flexibility, power and acceleration they provide. Reaching test standard will make you a more capable rider and introduce you to more defensive riding skills that will keep you safe, all benefits of getting a full license.

Of course with your new license you also can take a passenger, ride without L plates and will not have to take another CBT course to stay on the road!

‘A’ category direct access/upgrade training courses are offered on a 1:1 student/instructor basis, course options below. If you do not already have an A1/A2 license or hold a current CBT certificate then you will need to take the CBT first, which can be booked separately or as part of your course – please enquire if you’re unsure.

Training Options

  • Mod 1 and 2 single training days – £230.

Practise the Module 1 exercises and/or on road riding, single days can be booked without tests to build up your skills and get used to riding the bigger 600cc bike. This option allows you to do things at your own pace without the pressure of tests which can be booked later. 6 to 7 hours/day as needed.

Feedback will be given on your progress so you’ll have an idea of how much further training you may need and an idea of whether you’re ready for either test.

  • Full course – 3 days – £750.

For the more experienced rider and those upgrading from A2, you will already hold a CBT or an A2 license. A full training day initially on the bike including practise at the Module 1 test centre plus on-road riding and tuition aiming to prepare you for the Module 2 test. Course includes both tests which are usually on separate days, with training time included on both test days also.

  • Full course – 4 days – £890.

This course is intended for riders who already hold a current CBT and are ready to prepare for the Module 1 and 2 tests, 2 whole days are given over to on-road and off-road training for both tests while the other 2 are the test days which include final riding and training time while attending the tests. Most riders will find this course length offers plenty of training and practise time. The course includes both Mod 1 and 2 tests.

  • Full course – 5 days – £1150.

For riders who may not have a valid current CBT this includes the CBT course on the first day along with the 4 training and test days as above. If the CBT isn’t required then an additional on-road training day.

A day’s training is basically 6-7 hours length, but flexible depending on progress level. Test days are shorter than this at around 4 hours though they will be extended if needed – i.e. if you’re struggling extra time will be granted.

Training days can be arranged for the dates that suit you, they don’t have to form a block – tests are best set apart.

You will need to complete your theory test before taking Module 1 and Module 2 practical riding tests.
